What is The Truth and Trust Online Conference?

Truth and Trust Online is a new conference on 4-5 October in London. Technical and other experts from around the world will share, discuss, and collaborate on useful technical innovations, because while trustworthy online spaces benefit everyone, untrustworthy content and behaviour can divide, confuse, and cause real harm.

Truth and Trust Online is organised as a unique collaboration between practitioners, technologists, academics and platforms. This year’s conference will take place at BMA House in Central London.

What will the conference be covering?

The Call for Papers and Schedule explains what we will be covering. Please keep up to date with the Truth and Trust Online website where the full conference programme will be shared.

What time does the event start?

The conference opens early on the 4th October and ends in the evening on the 5th October 2019. The schedule has more detail.

Are there any networking events?

This is to be confirmed, and depends on funding. The schedule has the latest. If you would like to sponsor any networking events then please get in touch with our team at

Are there any age restrictions?

Yes, attendees should be 18 or over.

What should I bring?

Please remember to bring a form of identification as well as your confirmation email, either printed or on your smartphone, as you will be required to show your confirmation upon entry.

We would advise bringing a note pad, pen or laptop to take any notes.

How do I get to the venue?

The closest tube station is Euston Square Station (7 minute walk), Russell Square Station (7 minute walk) or Kings Cross Station (10 minute walk).


Is the venue accessible?

BMA House is committed to promoting an open and inclusive culture. As part of their commitment to providing a venue that is accessible for all, they have a number of easily accessible guest and employee meeting rooms located on the ground floor, as well as on the first and second floor which are accessible via a lift. Please contact the events team on if you have any accessibility requirements or if there is anything we can assist with ahead of your visit. Should you have any requirements in the event of an emergency evacuation please ensure you notify our events team prior to arriving.

Is there accessible parking at the venue?

Yes, there is accessible parking at the venue. Please contact the events team at ahead of your visit to organise a parking space.


Will there be catering?

Yes, as part of your conference ticket you will receive arrival tea and coffee, as well as morning tea, buffet lunch and afternoon tea. Please note, there will be no alcoholic drinks served at the event.

As part of your registration you will be asked for any dietary requirements or allergies. These will need to be provided at least 7 days in advance of the event.

I have left an item in the cloakroom, who do I contact? 

Please contact our events team with a full description of the item on email to admin@truthandtrustonline.comand we will aim to come back to you within two working days. Any items not claimed within two months will be donated to charity.


I bought the wrong ticket; can I get a refund?

Yes, if you no longer require your ticket you can request a refund by contacting the events team on and we will aim to come back to you within two working days. Please note that refunds will take at least 14 business days to appear in your account.

We regret that we are unable to process refunds within one week prior to the event.

How much are tickets?

Ticket prices vary depending on which ticket tier you come under. There are 3 categories; Industry Ticket, Academic Ticket and Student Ticket, for more information please see the ticketing site here (link). You will be required to show your Academic Identification or Student Identification upon registration. Should you be unable to provide the relevant identification you will be asked to purchase the correct ticket and your original ticket will be refunded post event, less any booking or credit card fees.

Each ticket gives you access to catering, beverages and the two-day conference.

Can I purchase a one-day ticket?

No, tickets are only sold for both Friday and Saturday. 

Can I buy a ticket at the event?

Yes, subject to availability. Please keep checking our Truth and Trust Online website ( for ticket availability.

How do I receive my tickets?

Once you have purchased your tickets you will receive an email confirmation. There are no physical tickets for the event, you will be asked to check in at Registration upon arrival.

Can I pick where I sit?

The event has free seating, please arrive promptly for registration to pick your seat.

Can I register a friend/another guest?

Yes, simply purchase the number of tickets you require. Please notify your guests that they will need to show ID on arrival.


Where is the venue?

Is there parking at the venue?

There is no parking at the venue. The nearest car park is ParkBee Russell Square, WC1N 1LE.

Are there toilets at the venue?

Yes, throughout the venue there are several toilets including accessible toilets. Once you have registered upon entry, you will be able to use the facilities on site.

Will there be a cloakroom at the venue?

Yes. Any items left in the BMA House cloakroom are left at the owner’s risk.
